The one and only Western Emigrant Trails Map 1820-1870 has been greatly enhanced and improved in a brand new 1999 Edition. This is the result of extensive additional research, field work and fine tuning over the last six years.

In the course of the work it became apparent the emphasis of the Map should be enlarged from "Major" to "Historic" Trails, Cutoffs, and Alternates. By including all of the known and significant trails, cutoffs, and alternates used by emigrants, together with important sites and landmarks, the full picture of the westward movement has been presented in the 1999 Edition. This makes the Map even more valuable and needed.

Further, the Editors also determined the time frame covered by the Map should be expanded to include the 1820s, because that is when the emigration really began.

Also, to make the 1999 Edition of the Map even more informative and useful a large number of origination dates have been supplied. And on top of all that the Wyoming inset has been substantially enlarged, the California/Nevada inset expanded, and a new inset covering the Northern Trail inserted.

In short, the 1999 Edition of the Map is the Finest, Most Comprehensive, Historically Accurate, and Informative Emigrant Trail Map in Existence.

It is an indispensable tool all trail buffs, historians, teachers, students, schools, libraries, museums, historic sites, and research centers must have.

The Map is printed in three colors, plus physical relief features. Its size is 22 1/2" x 33" and is available either folded (4 1/8" x 8") or flat (unfolded) for framing or mounting or custom folding.
